What it’s about:
Ever since she was a child, Ivy has been gripped by visions of strange realms just beyond her own. But when her sister goes missing, Ivy discovers the truth is far worse — her hallucinations are real, and her sister is trapped in a parallel realm. And the one person who believes her is the dangerously attractive guy who’s bound by an ancient legacy to betray her.
What I thought:
“You’re the light I can never have…and I’m the darkness you’ll never succumb to.”
What a great start to a new series! Ivy is awesome and kick-ass and Adrian is mysterious and sexy… but then I wouldn’t expect anything less from Jeaniene Frost.
I loved this book from page one and found that I was sucked into the world of angels and demons, just like I was sucked into the world of vampires in the Night Huntress series. Frost is a fantastic story teller, the worlds she creates always captivate and she knows how to write an awesome heroine.
Even though the romance side was a little light (for a JF book that is) I still felt my body tingle when Ivy and Adrian had theirmoment. I enjoyed the way their story was built and the obstacles given to them. In fact, their story reminded me of Charlie and Reyes from the Charlie Davidson series, which is one of my favourites.
This story had everything I wanted from mystery to romance. I cannot wait for the series to continue and to see what I’m sure will be an epic adventure unfold.
